It goes without saying that the most important thing happening in boxing right now is the matchup between Errol Spence Jr and Mikey Garcia.
Errol holds the IBF title, and is the cream of the crop among the current welterweight “champions” …all 4 of em.
Mikey Garcia is going up two weight classes to take on the bigger Spence Jr. Crazy stuff.
This is a legacy fight for Garcia, he’s trying to cement his name among this generations’ best.
The fight goes down in Dallas Cowboys Statium tomorrow night.
The Spence family is from the area so it’s kind of a hometown fight for Errol.., Although it is Texas, so expect Mikey to have legions of Mexican fans there for him.
Is the hometown advantage really in place for Errol?
TL;DR … Spence 24-0, 21 of those were knockouts. US Olympian in 2012. Current IBF World Champion, top of his class of the 4 “world champions”
Garcia, 4 division world champ, legendary Garcia family, younger brother or Robert Garcia. 39-0 with 30 knockouts. Moving up two weight classes to fight him, much smaller naturally, huge pair of balls.
You should watch the fight. It’s simple
Also on DAZN tonight
March 15: Philadelphia (DAZN)
- Title fight: Tevin Farmer vs. Jono Carroll, 12 rounds, for Farmer’s IBF junior lightweight title
- Title fight: Katie Taylor vs. Rose Volante, 10 rounds, IBF/WBA/WBO women’s lightweight title unification
- Gabriel Rosado vs. Maciej Sulecki, 10 rounds, middleweight
I hope I don’t loose my Irish card for this, especially on St. Patrick’s Day weekend, but I’m rooting for the American Farmer over Carroll.
You better believe I’m all in on Katie Taylor though!
